DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:3rd Shift-Applicants will have to pass a Background Check and a Drugscreen upon job offer.POSITIONSUMMARY:Reporting to the Group Leader, thisposition will be responsible for organizing, assigning and overseeingproduction in each cell. Supervises the production team to meet productionschedules, facilitating the safe and productive manufacture of high-qualityproducts, effectively driving and maintaining standardized work processes. TheTeam Leader is also responsible for leading continuous improvement activitiesusing lean manufacturing tools, including 5S and waste elimination. The Team Leaderis responsible for ensuring that company policies are followed. The Team Leaderis also responsible for Team Member assessment and development.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Health & Safety Management:Organize and convene safety meetings to carry out safetyeducation, risk assessments, accident investigations & other related safetyactivities.Coach team members' adherence to safety procedures, includingcorrect use of PPE, daily safety checks and workplace inspections.Identify, coordinate and resolve safety issues and facilitateBehavior-Based Safety observations.Assist in the drafting of Safety & Prevention procedures.Quality Management:Ensure team members adhere to standard operating procedures.Analyze the cause of quality issues and formulate suitable actionplans, including containment and preventative corrective actions.Assist in improving Poka-Yoke and quality assurance documentation.Operations Management:Allocate shift’s team members according to the production plan,training matrix, and skill matrix.Continuously track team performance and resolve any productionabnormalities promptly.Effectively communicate with all team members and to the nextshift Team Leader any and all issues/concerns resulting from the shift'soperations.Provide timely and effective feedback to help team membersstrengthen specific skills needed to accomplish a task or solve a problem.Escalate issues and/or successes of the cell to the Group Leaderas necessary.Support the T1 Team Leaders in drafting the Standard Work Sheet.Resolve problems during the launch period of new products and improvethe production process.Materials Management:Implement cyclical and monthly audits of the components inassigned production cells.Analyze any inventory discrepancy and put together improvementaction plans.Measure and optimize the usage of MRO in production cells.Equipment Management:Organize team members to perform daily checks and maintenance ontheir production equipment, fixtures and gauges (T1).Assist in the improvement of tooling and modification of equipment.Assist in the audit of equipment and tooling for use in newproducts.5S Management:Organize and supervise the team's execution of 5S plans, includinghousekeeping, making problems visible and standardizing activity for all TeamMembers.Develop the team's 5S improvement plan.Support the T1 and T2 Team Leaders' 5S planning and development.Continuous Improvement:Implement assigned cells’ continuous improvement plan.Lead the implementation of each cell's continuous improvement plan.Initiate, develop, lead and implement continuous improvement plans.Employee Development:Provide standard and specialized training for new, transferred,replacement or returning team members and refresh and upgrade team members onjob skills.Train and develop multi-skilled Team Members.Train and develop backup T1 talents.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Work experience in the automotive parts industry preferred.Understanding of lean manufacturing, waste elimination,problem-solving and 5S principles.Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.Able to read, write, and perform basic math skills (includingbasic algebra, fractions and geometry).Ability to carry out instructions, provided in written, oral ordiagram form.Basic understanding of TPM principles is beneficial. Ability tooperate, troubleshoot, make minor adjustments and/or perform preventivemaintenance on metal bending, welding, forming, fabrication, and assemblyequipment is advantageous.Experience in effective use of quality control gauges/equipment,inventory systems, blueprint interpretation, computer applications, and SPCcharting where applicable.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product andprocess specifications.Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.WORK ENVIRONMENT:High noise levelsVaryingtemperatures (hot to cold)Fumes at welding stationsConfined workspaceBuffing/grindingdust in some areasWet slipperyfloors in some areasPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Extensivestanding, walking, upper body twisting, arm and hand motion, some foot motionManual dexterityManual movementof pipe throughout machining process (15 lbs.)Ability to liftup to 50lbs requiredGood visualacuityFrequent skinexposure to chemical-based fluids such as coolant, drawing compound,lubricating oils, etc.REQUIREMENTS:Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
