JOB DESCRIPTION To perform this job successfully in the Lincare team environment, an Accounts Receivable Group Leader must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily within a specific time frame. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. The A/R Group Leader monitors and collects accounts receivable for assigned payer group. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other tasks may be assigned): Attends work on a regular and predictable basis Assigns duties and examines work of subordinates for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures Maintains harmony among workers and helps to resolve grievances Maintains accurate payroll records for team members Obtains payer requirements for timely adjudication of claims Contacts payers for claims status or to followup denials or partial payments Researches credit balances and initiates refunds as required Documents all activity in customers' computer accounts Answers accounts receivable phone inquiries Works accounting reports to target aged accounts in order to meet and maintain performance targets as set by management Identifies and resolves complex issues Assists management in training and coaching other team members Audits customer accounts before transfer to Direct Pay Approves the documentation used by team members in the collection process and A/R adjustments entered by PAC I team membersJOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - High school diploma or equivalent One to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience Requires extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other government or private payer reimbursement rules Computer literacy, minimum keyboarding skills, and proficiency in the use of office equipment required for performance of assigned duties Knowledge of telephone etiquette and adequate oral and written communication skills are primary importance for success in this position Must be 18 years of age or older REASONING ABILITY - The skills and abilities required for this position include a positive and cooperative manner in working and communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization.
