Work hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday with 30 minute lunch period

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Serves as an assistant to the County Maintenance Manager, and is responsible for all maintenance activities occurring in an assigned area of Indiana County.

Provides recommendations for roadway repairs on all roadways within the HMC assigned section of Indiana County. Once completed, will review with CMM before turning them into the RPC.Prepares plans and estimates needed material for a variety of work operations such as paving, surface treatment, widening, milling and filling operations, patching, small bridge maintenance, signing, shoulder cutting, crack and joint sealing, pipe replacement, pipe installation, pipe repair, ditching and pipe flushing. With guidance from the CMM, prepares equipment, manpower and material needed for assigned crews for summer and winter maintenance activities planned by the Highway Maintenance Coordinator. With guidance from the CMM, create and review annual work plans for their assigned geographic section of Indiana County for planning periods one and three. The HMC will review and take into consideration sectional cycle maintenance, 4-year paving plan and the roadway reviews they complete yearly when completing their period plans. Once reviewed with CMM, HMC will enter the plans into SAP.Participates in coordinating weekly work plans in support of their current period plan for each assigned crew both in the summer and winter. While submitting their weekly plan, they will take equipment, materials and personal into consideration. Works with and inspects all work activities performed by their assigned crews for productivity and effectiveness to ensure conformance with the departments standards from the Bureau of Maintenance and Operations. Responsible for reviewing daily crew payrolls through the electronic payroll process. If errors are found, work with appropriate foreman to correct. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as a Highway Foreman 2;ORfive years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction;ORan equivalent combination of experience and training

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

This position requires you to obtain a valid Advanced Safety Certificate issued by the National Safety Council's Safety Training Institute within two years of starting in this job.
