On behalf of Indiana University, Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking experienced part-time and full-time Field Interviewers to support the Person to Person Health Interview Study (P2P). As a Field Interviewer, you will help collect data from fellow Hoosiers to better understand how various factors fit together to influence community and individual health. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in ground-level research that will directly benefit your community.
Total compensation will be based on qualifications and responsibilities but starts at $16 / hour. We also provide mileage reimbursement for use of a personal vehicle for project tasks.
As a Field Interviewer for the P2P Study, you will:
Travel to selected households throughout Indiana, conducting household enumeration surveys to identify eligible respondents
Recruit and obtain informed consent from the eligible respondent based on study protocol
Conduct computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI), collect saliva, and take anthropometric measures (height, weight, blood pressure; hip, waist and neck circumference)
Use project-specific maps, study materials, and an Android study tablet
Complete daily data transmittal to Indiana University using an Internet connection and tablet
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) by adhering to strict rules regarding participant confidentiality
Work with other research team members, communicating with and reporting to our central offices in Bloomington
Field Interviewer Qualifications:
At least 18 years old
Strong computer skills and experience using a tablet computer
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Comfortable asking sensitive questions with potential participants
Valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and dependable personal automobile for local travel
Able to pass mandatory background check and drug screening
Hours & Training:
Flexible schedule involving day, early evening, and/or weekend shifts
Approximately 24 to 40 hours per week (minimum of 20 hours required)
Must attend 5 day paid-training and certification session in Bloomington, IN from August 12-16,Â2019
Required to attend weekly meeting with field supervisor by phone or in person
Physical Demands:
Ability and willingness to work in all kinds of weather conditions, locations within the state, and within participant households
Ability to be on-foot, including walking various distances per study needs
Physically able to carry study materials/supplies as needed
Ability to read, speak, and write in English
Additional Information:
Prior household enumeration and or computer assisted in person interview (CAPI) experience strongly preferred
Prior saliva collection and/or anthropometric measurement experience preferred
