DescriptionA client of ours in Carmel IN, is currently seeking to hire an Application Support Engineer. The Application Support Engineer will own one software platform and support all tickets, bug fixes, and reporting associated with it. This Application Support Engineer in the Financial Services industry is a fantastic career-building opportunity for a master of software and applications programming and industry requirements who can establish and define systems scope and objectives. This is a full time, direct hire role that is working Monday-Friday 8:30-5PM, and this role is working remotely today and for the foreseeable future.What you do as the Application Support Engineer:
Create and evaluate programming changes for each systems development phase prior to implementation. Log test cases and expected results. Verify that results meet requirements. May plan basic tests or a defined subset of larger tests.
Evaluates methods of processing and make suggestions for improvements
Provides guidance for internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting problems with programming. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education
Analyzes user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Creates documents of functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Suggests how, when and whether to proceed with the changes
Supports end users and other partner groups, providing ongoing training and assistance for a particular application, system or process
Aids in creating communication materials for certain system changes being implemented in production
Creates and updates dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst
Assesses and logs issues. Works alongside other programmers to correct problems with code
RequirementsWhat you bring to the role:
2+ years experience as an Application Support or Software Support Engineer with a focus on T-SQL development
Experience debugging software using C# is highly desired
Strong familiarity with building SQL and SSRS reporting
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
