Schnucks has a current opening for a full-time Specialty Pharmacy Technician at our Springfield Specialty Pharmacy. This position assists and supports the pharmacist and specialty pharmacy department. Responsibilities include processing patient and prescription referrals, obtaining information from patients and referral sources, filling prescription orders, communicating with various members of the healthcare team, and providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Follow current standard operating procedures for specialty referral processing (referral intake, insurance verification, prescription processing).
Maintain excellent customer service with patient/patient representatives, referral sources, and industry representatives.
Complete compliance calls, documentation, and patient follow-up activities.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education: High school education.
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years.
Pharmacy technician experience in specialty pharmacy (1 year preferred).
Pharmacy technician experience with third parties, patient assistance programs, and completing prior authorizations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Prior experience/proficiency with all company applications (ERx, TherigySTM, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite).
Maintain professional and effective communication with insurance companies, patient assistance programs, health care providers, and teammates.
Strong organizational skills.
Capable of supporting all functions of the pharmacy filling process.
Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
