Job Title:TeacherDepartment:Laurance Armour Day School (LADS)Shift:1stFull/Part:Active Regular FT (72 to 80 hours per pay period)Specialty:Child Care/EducationJob Number:2019-2502Job Description:An exciting opportunity to join the Rush Team!We have an immediate opening for a Teacher at The Laurance Armour Day School that is part of Rush University Medical Center, a nationally known medical center that incorporates some of the nation’s finest health care, research and educational facilities.The Laurance Armour Day School (L.A.D.S.) is a school and day care facility for children ages4 months – 10 years. The center primarily provides care for children of its staff, students, and employeesPosition Highlights:

The Teacher will provide direct care, supervision and education to children in one classroom. This includes planning and implementing curriculum activities and primary care giving that meets the young children’s developmental needs in social, emotional, cognitive, fine and gross motor skills.

The Teacher will be responsible for the observation and documentation of children’s behavior to further guide the curriculum and will routinely share these observations of the children with their parents.

Will establish and maintain relationships with parents through daily contacts, conferences, orientations, and meetings for the classroom assigned

Position Qualifications Include:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 36 semester credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Immersive Education (EiEd), Early Childhood, or Special Education.

Sixty semester hours (90 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university with 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age 6 required. Or

One year (1560 hours or more) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age 6 required. Or

Completion of a credentialing program approved by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services required.

One or more years of early childhood experience required.

Must be physically able to perform the job of an early childhood teacher (e.g. able to lift children and/or equipment up to 40lbs; able to stoop, bend, sit and stand for extended periods of time).
