SUMMER EMPLOYMENT
Mystic Saddle Ranch is a horseback outfitter in Stanley, Idaho. MSR provides short trail rides as well as overnight camping trips with the horses and guided hunts during the fall season. Guides that work at MSR are provided housing for the duration of the summer season. MSR guides get the opportunity to lead short trail rides but also get to lead day long trail rides, help on the overnight camping trips and learn packing skills with the horses in the back country of Idaho.
Mystic Saddle Ranch is looking to hire capable men and women who enjoy working with horses as well as being outdoors and can provide excellent customer service to a variety of guests. MSR is looking to hire full time employees, five days a week from late June to mid-September. Beginning wages depend on guide and horseback experience.
Horseback and guiding experience are recommended but not required for this job. MSR provides two full days of training on horse and safety procedures around the corral. First Aid certification is required for all guides prior to leading trail rides. Certification can be done online or in a classroom through Red Cross. Guides are expected to be able to provide exceptional customer service as well as keep guests safe during their ride.
Guides will be expected to lead trail rides, get the horses ready daily, feed and care for stock, clean up and maintenance around the corral as well as some office duties as needed. Other work includes; trail maintenance, packing gear on horseback, guiding overnight pack trips and hauling horses.
The horses and staff operate out of Stanley, Idaho from June until November. In early November, the horses and staff move to Arizona to do guided trail rides in Cave Creek. Year round work can be available between the two locations. The winter operation is called Cave Creek Trail Rides.
Mystic Saddle Ranch strives to provide a healthy work environment with employees who enjoy working with people, the outdoors and horses. A western atmosphere is expected and a must. Guides are expected to wear jeans, button down shirts, cowboy hats and boots. Guides that work with these companies have the opportunity to make extra money in tips during the busy seasons.
Guiding at MSR is the perfect fit for those who loves the outdoors, fishing, hiking, hunting and horseback riding. The small town of Stanley is a great place to spend the summer as there are a multitude of outdoor recreational activities to take part in. The area is known for its mountain biking, hiking and riding trails. There are also several stretches of river to enjoy white water rafting and fishing. People come from all over the country to guide during the summer season. MSR guides get the opportunity to have amazing back country experiences and meet people from all over the world.
