Direct Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer Indirect Supervisor: CSO, CEO

Supervises: Facility Department Directors

Scheduling Requirements: Typically, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. “ 5 p.m., with some call

Travel Requirements: Occasional Travel to Company-wide meetings

Job Summary

The administrator directs the day-to-day functions of the facility in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times. The administrator is also responsible for developing. Implementing and maintaining a profitable and sustainable budget for the building, and providing leadership for the entire building.

Job Responsibilities

The Administrator assumes daily responsibility in the following areas:

1. Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs of the facility.

2. Works to maintain a patient census and mix that provides the necessary revenue to operate the facility profitably; and directs controls and prioritizes expenses to the same effect.

3. Makes routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented, and that goals and standards are being met.

4. Participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.

5. Reviews and develops a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan as required.

6. Maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents, and maintain a good public relations program that serves the best interest of the facility and community alike.

7. Represents the facility at and participates in top level meetings.

8. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to superiors concerning the operation and needs of the facility.

9. Ensure that all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established policies and procedures, and ensures appropriate employee recognition, coaching and discipline is issued when necessary.

10. Assists in the selection of competent department heads, and provides leadership and consultation to the facility management team.

11. Serves as liaison to medical providers and other professional staff, and maintain an excellent working relationship with the medical profession and other health related facilities and organizations.

12. Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in good repair, supplied adequately and that staff follow patient and employee safety guidelines.

13. Represents the facility in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.

14. Delegates a responsible staff member to act in your behalf when you are absent from the facility.

15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications (Level 1)

1. Current license as an LNHA in the State of Idaho.

2. Extensive and relevant work experience in long-term care or a bachelors degree in business administration, health care administration, nursing or another applicable focus.

3. Ability to think and work independently or with direction, and communicate effective with other team members.

Preferred Qualifications (Level 2)

1. Provides leadership and direction in a facility with a bed capacity of 45 or more beds

2. Documented experience as an Administrator, or other leadership experience; and

3. Any degrees, certifications or other qualifications to verify expertise.
