Family Connections is a local in-home strengths based supportive service agency dedicated to serving children and their families. We are looking for an individual to work 20-25 hrs. per week that has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a social work or related field and 3 years of experience working with at-risk families with child protection issues and varied lifestyles/backgrounds/ethnicities. The primary job focus is to coordinate/facilitate Family Group Decision Making Meetings, in their various forms, for families working with Child Protection Services for the purpose of bringing family supports together to address current and ongoing risks. Applicants must have strong negotiation, conflict management, communication and organizational skills. Applicants must have reliable transportation and flexible work schedule.

Skills required: knowledge and understanding of family systems theory, family centered practice, family dynamics and the State of Idaho's Child Welfare Act. Ability to work within a team, make decisions during stressful situations, relate well with families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds and ethnicities; objectively assess family needs and safety concerns, excellent written and verbal communication. Must have experience in providing in-home services to families, cultural diversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, crisis intervention, effects of child abuse and neglect on child development; sexual abuse, mediation and other interventions. In addition, applicants must have experience in working with medically fragile infants and behaviorally challenged children. Applicants must be able to type a minimum of 20 words per minute and have a computer with internet access and virus protection. Full time and part time benefits including self-care benefit, vacation/sick leave, training funds and free ceu's. Applicant must be able to pass F.B.I. background check and have no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
