Alta Project Services is a multi-family housing contractor/developer in southeast and southern Idaho. We are currently hiring for the position of Construction Superintendent.
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of all onsite construction activities. The Project Superintendent is the onsite representative who “Runs” the jobsite and is responsible for continuous field supervision, coordination, schedule and completion of the work. They organize and schedule all scopes of work provided by the sub-contractors and field labors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Effectively coordinate all onsite construction tasks to ensure the project is complete on schedule, within budget and at a level of workmanship that exceeds the owner’s expectations.
Be able to read and understand architectural and civil plans and be the “go-to” plan expert onsite.
Understand subcontractor contractual obligations and scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders.
Order materials and schedule/track inspections
Complete walk through inspections to ensure that work is being completed on time and with good workmanship.
Plan all weekly activities with subcontractors and direct employees
Lead weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors to ensure work is completed per plans, contracts, schedule, and level of workmanship.
Ability to work with minimal oversight to maintain strict compliance with design, follow procedures and schedules, and prioritize multiple tasks
Provide quality assurance to functional staff regarding all schedule tracking and cost reporting
Review, analysis and oversight of monthly schedule and monthly progress reports
Other job-related duties or projects as assigned
Maintains positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers and other employees.
Strong organization, interpersonal skills
Prepares schedules and supervises completion of a final punch list.
Perform and oversee some labor activities such as project cleanup, window blinds installation, Appliance installation, finish carpentry, and other activities as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, or related degree is preferred.
Ideal candidates will have 1+ years of recent experience as a superintendent or similar job.
Proven leadership experience and strong communication, writing, and computer skills are essential.
Ability to Develop and maintain project schedule, three week look ahead
Experience managing both direct labor and subcontracts
Ability to take initiative and be pro-active in ensuring that the project is done on time and within budget.
Strong communication skills are a must.
Experience in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation
DOE – Per hour base $16-$27
