Position Description:A Manufacturing Etch Process Engineer with ON Semiconductor in
Nampa supports the manufacture of Image Sensor product lines for 200mm and
300mm. The primary responsibility of the Etch Process Engineer is to own
the color filter array (CFA) CVD, Dry Etch, Wet Process, and Fusion Dry Strip
manufacturing process. The Etch Process Engineer will actively support
the shift engineering team with any issues that occur, and work closely with
the equipment engineer to help prevent downtime. The Etch Process
Engineer will be responsible for setting up new CVD and Etch processes for new
part types, SPC, and own disposition procedures for how the shift teams react
to SPC violations. The Etch Process Engineer will work with the RnD and
NPI teams to development new CVD and Etch processes for new and existing
technology. This position will be a first shift position that will report
to the Process Engineering Manager.Responsibilities include, but are
not limited to the following:
Support the shift CFA Engineeringteam with issues that arise.
Develop an in-depth understandingof the CVD, Dry Etch, Wet Process, and Dry Strip processes to be able todiagnose issues that occur.
Apply statistical process control(SPC) and data analysis skills to implement process control charts, developreactions to out of control/specification (OOC/OOS) conditions, and implementcorrective actions.
Develop DOE’s to run, implement solutions,and make recommendations for new process conversions and improvements.
Develop engineering skills toevaluate process results using statistical methods, implement solutions, andhelp recommend/drive yield improvement.
Maintaining, characterizing, andimproving process performance for efficient image CFA development work.
Working with various teams onprocess, tool, and materials development.
Use 8D or other problem solvingtechniques to overcome process challenges.
Identify CVD/Etch issues and workwith the appropriate cross-functional teams to develop solutions.
Provide written and verbalcommunication to various teams for tool issues, process issues, andproject status.
Create Work Instructions, BKM’s,and any associated training certifications.
Setup CVD and Etch processes forall new RnD and NPI parts.
Develop new processes with RnD teamthat can be rolled out to production.
Document experiments in a
clear and concise manner to help train and educate fellow team membersQualifications:
MinimumBS degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Chemistry with 2years of experience
Familiaritywith semiconductor fab processes (Dry Etch, CVD, PVD, Litho) is a plus
Understandingof statistical process control
Excellentdata summary and analytical skills
Experiencein definition, implementation and analysis of Design of Experiment (DOE)
Teamplayer with ability to effectively work in cross functional teamenvironment
Strongapproach for troubleshooting
Strongcommunication, documentation, and organizational skills
Innovativeand self-motivated attitude
Workswell both independently and with teams
