Adecco is assisting our client in Lewiston, ME to fill a Civil Estimator to start ASAP. This is a DIRECT HIRE , salaried position, pay is ranging from $65,000-$70,000 a year Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Earthwork, project plans, interpretations of SOW and bidding projects to build. Effective communicators must work with general contractors and estimating team to develop preliminary schedules. For the right candidate, the Estimator could have the ability to work remotely, when not traveling.Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

Quantifies the components of a project by utilizing available take off tools (Agtek).

Visits the project site to understand site conditions/restrictions and attends pre-bid meetings.

Solicits and coordinates scope with subcontractors and suppliers in a timely manner.

Bids projects of all types to include private, negotiated, municipal, state, and federal projects.

Works with estimating team lead and or management to close the bid.

Builds estimates from scratch.

Researches pricing for estimates based on company historical cost.

Secures bid bonds.

Performs job duties in line with the values of the company.

Works with Project Management and Accounting Departments to hand off estimate and establish preliminary budgets.

Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, and project management software.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
