DONUT MAKER

FULL-TIME

We are hiring for a Donut Maker (Fryer) who is primarily responsible for donut production, assisting with ingredient preparation and helping to glaze donuts. The position is responsible to produce high quality donuts for our retail store and wholesale customers while working efficiently to meet production needs. Additionally, there will be opportunities to learn/train on baking to expand responsibilities and opportunities.

This is long term, full-time role for a key member of our team. We are not hiring for anything temporary or part-time.

This will be challenging and aid in your personal and professional growth. It will be rewarding in the short and long-term, which may at times require some tough work.

You must be willing to be trained on detailed processes and receive constructive feedback.Â

Kitchen/baking experience is a definite plus and preferred but not necessarily required.

Must be knowledgeable of Guru Donuts brand and mission.

Must be a self-starter and have the ability to problem solve with team members, we dont like to micro-manage.

Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time

Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more

Must love donuts and be excited about continually raising the bar for producing high-quality, unique donuts

Key Donut Making duties will include, but are not limited to:

Prepping and mixing of donut ingredients for next day

Operating equipment (including fryer and mixer) to product all cake donuts, raised donuts, fritters, and other donuts

Icing, glazing, filling, and finishing donutsÂ

Maintain production equipment

Maintain sanitation of work station and bakery

Communicate with team throughout shift and make a positive contribution to the working environment

Perform measures to ensure correct consistency, color, and fluidness of donuts

Work alongside supervisor and acting manager to develop new products, test new recipes, improve existing recipes and product quality

Work with kitchen staff to follow up with ways to increase efficiency, safety and productivity in the bakery

There are probably some things we havent thought of - and we have open lines of communication to make sure job expectations are clear.Â

What are the hours?

Hours may vary, but are typically:

Start time between 2:00 - 3:00am, and ending when tasks are completed (between 9am to 10am Mon-Thurs and between 10am to 11am Fri-Sun). Please be aware of these hours so the early morning expectations are not a surprise. Any future baking starts earlier than 3am. Weekends and occasional holidays are required.
