Additionally, the laboratory is involved with research activities to improve the metrology capability available to the Micron community at the highest possible level.Our responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Technique ownershipUse of good judgment, initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to provide solutions for both routine and non-routine situations. Continuous improvementDevelop, implement, and utilize new surface analysis strategies and procedures to support development and production of next generation memory solutions. We enable ground breaking technologies and novel semiconductor manufacture by investigating material properties in partnership with Micron Engineers and scientists.Research, gather, and analyze information related to specific assignments within your technical discipline. Recommend process or equipment changes to improve lab metrics.Interpret results of new or modified equipment or processes and determine how they may impact our laboratory or production capability or capacity. Support manufacturing requestsOur team supports manufacturing and R&D requests using a variety of analytical metrologies. Experience with techniques including XRR, XRD, XPS, and TOF-SIMS is highly preferred.Interaction and Communication You will have the chance to create clear and strong lines of communication allowing a quick response to team member analytical questions and requirements. Our team is expected to interact positively within the laboratory and with other organizations both within and external to Micron. The nature of Micron's organization requires that we maintain constant and consistent communication regarding projects, procedures, troubleshooting methods, etc. This means that we present results in a clear and concise manner through oral presentations, analytical reports, and technical papers. General ExpectationsDemonstrate proficient knowledge of data collection and analytical strategies and techniques to contribute to group objectives.Actively contribute to the fulfillment of all group objectives. Execute projects within guidelines defined by management.Regularly review data and direction with supervisor.Demonstrate sound data analysis and judgment when performing and reporting on analyses. Present reports and findings with appropriate conclusions and recommendations based upon the results.Qualifications:Successful candidates for this position will have:

Knowledge of structural and chemical surface analysis techniques through coursework or experience. The use of XRR, XRD, XPS, and TOF-SIMS to explore material properties is preferred.

Knowledge of and experience with computer programming, Matlab and Visual Basic experience highly desired.

Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to thrive in both an individual and team-based work environment.

Be proactive and take ownership of assigned projects.

An aptitude and interest in instrument repair and maintenance.

Excellent computer application skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and instrument control software.

An ability to work in a flexible manner that allows for changes in assignments and priorities depending upon the identified needs of the laboratory.

Education:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Material Science
