DescriptionThe Idaho State Tax Commission is recruiting for an IT Manager II in Boise to manage and oversee the Development and Operations units of Integration Services. Example of Duties

Responsible for application development activities including SDLC and QA processes as well as operations, change and service management

Responsible for customer liaison and requirements development

Review and evaluate programming operations, enhancements, upgrades and training needs

Hire Operations and Software Engineer staff, assign work, and evaluate and manage performance

Consult with management and vendors about future Integration Services direction and development

Plan, design, and oversee the integration of tax software modules, security levels, utilities, and third-party products

Minimum QualificationsSome knowledge of budget practices (cost/benefit analysis).Good knowledge of management practices; current trends in information technology; computer hardware and software capabilities and limitations.Experience supervising and training a technical IT staff in delivering services to end users; installing and maintaining multiple operating systems and system software which includes multiple technologies and platforms and resolution of conflicting goals with various users; identifying and resolving complex system-related problems dealing with end users and vendors and translating them into workable solutions in a business environment AND making recommendations based on established standards.Extra Credit: ITIL Foundation Certification.All candidates being considered for employment with the Tax Commission must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, before a final job offer will be given. Education and experience must be within the last five years.04Describe how you have obtained good knowledge of computer hardware and software capabilities and limitations.This is typically gained by at least two years of work experience in the information technology field working with multiple technologies OR an equivalent combination of classroom training that covered multiple technologies and work experience in the information technology field working with multiple technologies. Education and experience must be within the last five years.05Describe how you have obtained experience supervising and training a technical IT staff in delivering services to end users.Include in your response the applicable experience you have obtained and include: job title(s), employer(s), dates of employment, number of staff oversight, types of tasks/projects performed, and levels of staff supported.This is typically gained by at least one year of experience as an IT team leader or supervisor with a staff of two (2) or more that included answering technical questions from all support levels, including managers.06Describe how you have obtained experience installing and maintaining multiple operating systems and system software which include multiple technologies and platforms and resolution of conflicting goals with various users.Include in your response the following as it pertains to your applicable experience: 1) new or enhanced systems you researched, designed and installed, 2) your specific role interacting with users, 3) your specific role identifying integrated system requirements, 4) your specific role developing integrated system specifications, and 5) your specific role identifying training needs.This is typically gained by at least three years' experience serving as a major participant in projects involving all of the above areas with direct responsibility for specific phases. Typical projects will span 12 to 18 months.07Describe how you have obtained experience identifying and resolving complex system-related problems dealing with end users and vendors and translating them into workable solutions in a business environment AND making recommendations based on established standards.Include in your response the following as it pertains to your applicable experience: responsibility for reviewing, recommending, and scheduling for new or upgraded system packages that included feasibility studies, cost justifications, etc. Include a brief description about the solution, duration of the project and your role in making recommendations.This is typically gained by at least three years' experience performing the following functions: designing, implementing, and/or maintaining solution to meet defined business need; and at least three years' experience making recommendations based on established standards.08Extra Credit: Are you ITIL foundation certified?
