This position would have experience in data acquisition/extraction and data blending. The Analyst will be responsible for researching and extracting pertinent data points within multiple source systems while developing analytical reporting solutions. Primary focus will be understanding business requirements and converting them into automation solutions.
Collaborating with clients/stakeholders to define requirements for the purpose of developing robust business intelligence solutions.
Perform data extraction/acquisition using multiple databases, tools (Alteryx) and querying languages for the purpose of dynamically reporting results to the end user
Consult and advise with stakeholders concerning the accuracy of data and efficiency of the data acquisition process by having a sound knowledge of all data sources.
Prepare technical specifications and documentation for Alteryx workflows supporting BI reports.
Translate business logic from one system (Excel, SQL, etc) into Alteryx in a quick and accurate manner.
Develop re-useable processes that can be leveraged and standardized for multiple instances
Ensure application stability and performance by monitoring existing workflows to ensure they are working correctly and that they reconcile with the source.
Working in full life cycle of automation solution implementation
Perform end to end Data validation
Provide ad-hoc data analysis and support to business functions.
Relational database knowledge (relational models, star schema, keys, common terminology)
Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, visual basic commands)
Knowledge of reporting and query tools (Oracle SQL developer, Business Objects, MS SQL, etc.)
Knowledge of SQL querying language
Working knowledge of self-service analytic/ETL tools and data visualization tools, specifically Alteryx Designer and PowerBI
Understanding of workflow based logic and the ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution
Ability to construct process flow charts and diagrams relating to data ETL processes and project life cycles
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute specific tasks associated to data acquisition/profiling
Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in in data by incorporating thorough documentation processes
Supporting the definition of data management requirements, including translating and documenting needs, assessing data, and implementing appropriate data solutions & data warehousing principles and methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility surrounding work, projects, and schedule is a must
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Must meet deadlines for deliverables
Attention to all details in job execution is critical to this position
Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilities
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or similar analytical field
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in working with relational database systems and 1-2 years of experience with data visualization software (QlikView,Tableau, Power BI, Oracle OBIEE) and self-service analytic/ETL tools (Pentaho, Alteryx)
