Trump International Hotel Waikiki, Oahu's only Forbes 5-Star luxury hotel, has an immediate opening for the position of Director of Food & Beverage.

The Director of Food & Beverage oversees all aspects of the Food & Beverage division, meeting and exceeding guest satisfaction, associate satisfaction and financial objectives. Daily interaction with both staff and guests is critical so the ability to work hands on in the operation while balancing administrative duties is essential. The ability to lead and motivate staff and foster effective communication within hotel is key to overall success to the position.

The areas of major focus for this position include: staff performance and morale, managing division expenses, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures and advancing the hotel's service culture (for both internal and external guests). A flexible work schedule is required to support all aspects of the operation. The Director must have comprehensive hotel & restaurant industry knowledge and be able to thrive in an ultra-luxury setting.

Minimum Requirements:

3-5 years previous experience in the F&B operation of a Hawaii hotel or resort. Previous affiliation with a luxury hotel or result highly desirous

Must have previous experience working with Japanese visitors to Hawaii

High School Diploma or GED, and a minimum BA degree in F&B or Hospitality or related field

Must currently live in Hawaii and be highly familiar with working in Hawaii's multicultural environment and supervising a multicultural work force

Must be able to speak in a luxurious manner befitting a 5-star hotel. Impeccable English skills required. Japanese speaking skills highly desired, and will be given preference

Position Responsibilities:

Key administrative duties include: weekly payroll, Personal Actions, Time-Off Requests and departmental scheduling. All must be completed on time, and executed to the highest standards.

Special tasks assigned by the Executive Steering Committee must be completed on time with the quality of work meeting expectations and competency levels.

Daily staffing for leaders and associates is executed with a high level of strategy and a commitment to providing outstanding service for both internal and external guests. Additionally, a high level of financial acumen must be used to assure financial success.

All associates are held accountable for meeting luxury performance guidelines and adherence to established hotel procedures to include HR policies, grooming standards and code of conduct. The F&B Director is ultimately responsible for ensuring effective training and ongoing monitoring in all areas.

Morale is held as a top priority in all areas

This position is required to assist with the creation and maintenance of accurate monthly forecasts and yearly outlet budgets. Responsible for monthly profit/loss statement performance and reporting.

Training is a priority with regard to established Forbes, Trump Hotels and luxury standards

Ability and willingness to successfully manage all guest issues within the division

Shows a sense of urgency when addressing issues

Has the ability to communicate with disappointed guests and is successful in recovering service

Demonstrates a high level of cooperation, tolerance and teamwork throughout the hotel

Demonstrate critical thinking and strategic thought when addressing complex problems

Must foster exceptional communication skills with both associates and peers

Must be able to quickly address performance issues with consistency and tact

Communication skills are well defined and appropriate for the position

Will lead the charge to regularly check all outlets ensuring each is clean and well maintained at all

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.

Must be able to reach / bend / stoop / grab / possess manual dexterity to operate office equipment, including telephones, computers and keyboards, 10-key, fax, and copier

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance

Must be able to access all areas of the hotel, including stairwells, elevators, and public areas

Must be able to work calmly and efficiently in a sometimes-stressful environment

Must be able to work in varied weather environments, including air conditioning, sun, heat, open air, rain, wind, etc.
