Under the general direction of the Fiscal Department Manager, this position computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data in order to develop and maintain financial records. This position also monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are current, and records transactions in journals and ledgers or on computer files.

Essential Functions:

Prepare bills and invoices, checks, credit memorandums, account statements, reports, and other records, and review for accuracy.

Process and maintain accurate and timely accounts payable/receivable.

Audit invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies, and approve for payment.

Reconcile report discrepancies and problems.

Prepare cash and checks for biweekly cash deposits.

Adjust student accounts with HTIC Scholarship credits.

Arrange tuition payment plans with students.

Prepare tuition refunds and security deposits to students.

Process daily wire transfers from student payments to general account.

Receive payments from employees and students and generate receipts.

Assist students, employees, and vendors by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.

Assist with performing year-end closing routines and reports.

Participate in administrative and/or academic committees and meetings.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (start and end-times may vary).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Accounting.

Intermediate skills in word processing, database management, spreadsheets.

Strong language proficiency in Japanese/English, including advanced reading/writing and listening/speaking skills.

Intermediate skills and knowledge of the input, retrieval, and display of data.

Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form.

Must be detailed-oriented and accurate in duties performed.
