RESPONSIBILITIES Will work primarily in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys. Lead a one-, two- or three-person field crew. Proficient with data collectors, data collection techniques, conventional field note-keeping, total stations and leveling. Must be physically able to work long hours and carry heavy loads. May also perform some office duties, including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using survey computer programs and AutoCAD. Cut and remove brush and undergrowth for line of sight. Performs mathematical calculations and field checking of field data. Reads and understands plans and specifications. Know basic sources of measurement errors. Performs other duties as assigned. Dig ground using a pick, shovel and other hand tools to search for and locate survey monuments. Hold and plum rod in obtaining elevations and distances. Drive stakes to set grades on construction projects. Provide quality seamless customer service. Know, understand and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment. Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements. Must be able to work in inclement weather. Valid Driver s License required. QUALIFICATIONS Must be dependable and committed. Must be a good teammate and be courteous to fellow workers, the client and the public. Boundary and ALTA Surveys Topographic and aerial ground control Surveys Construction layout, residential and commercial properties including utilities Horizontal and vertical control surveys using GPS. Know, understand and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment. Requires a pre-employment drug screen and will require ongoing participation in the employer 's random drug and alcohol testing program. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to traverse various types of terrain. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Frequently moves and transports equipment weighing up to sixty (60) pounds.
