Summary:

Operates and maintains Playback in accordance with defined policies and quality standards. Understands workflows to support timely troubleshooting of issues affecting broadcasts and live streaming. Keeps accurate and precise shift summary logs, provides routine accurate information to cable guide provider(s), generates daily and weekly reports as required by management. Uploads and tags programming for You Tube Channel.

Job Duties:

1. Has primary oversight for daily Playback operations, including proper ingestion of all media types (programs).

2. Utilizes traffic management system for construction and delivery of daily playlists, constructs flights for delivery of PSAs commercials, station IDs and other interstitials in accordance with defined policies and schedules.

3. Reviews playing order of programs against logs, system schedulers and corrects discrepancies.

4. Communicates with company clients as necessary to ensure programs meet required standards and necessary schedules.

5. Reviews all programming for quality, inappropriate advertising or soliciting, or other violations of company policy. Makes corrections as necessary to assure company policies are maintained.

6. Answers telephones, directs calls, and assists with general office tasks.

7. Uploads and tags programs for display on You Tube Channel.

8. Responsible for DVD duplications and digital downloads upon request.

9. Encodes/transcodes video, as necessary, for website usage, marketing department requests, and client requests.

10. Assists and completes work associated with employee workspace moves and changes.

11. Assists with facility maintenance related tasks upon request.

Education and Experience:

Level of knowledge equivalent to completion of a high school diploma and less than 1 year of experience in broadcasting or cable television.

Special Skills/Knowledge/Aptitudes:

Must be able to work independently under pressure and have strong problem solving skills with aptitude to recognize, solve or escalate problems quickly and efficiently. Must be able to follow defined processes and have strong attention to detail skills. Good written and verbal communication skills are required and must be able to use sound judgment in accordance with company policies to add and/or delete public service announcements.

Complexity and Scope of Responsibility:

The work involves interrelated standard assignments requiring a range of experience and knowledge in broadcast transmissions. Under general supervision, the employee plans and carries out work assignments in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training and experience or accepted practices in consultation with his/her supervisor. Uses extensive knowledge of company policies to decide appropriate course of action to include when to escalate problems and issues. The supervisor sets priorities and deadlines and assists the employee with unusual situations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations:

The incumbent generally works in a standard office environment with a quiet noise level. Uses hands and fingers to operate telephones, keyboards, and other computer or office equipment; frequently speaks and listens and uses normal and close vision to perform functions of the job. May be required to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs. Evening and weekend work may be required to accomplish corporate goals.
