Also assists with orientation and training of new employees. Must be competent in the compounding and dispensing of medications, under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, to the following age groups of patients: Neonatal, Pediatric, Adult and Geriatric. Prepare the admixtures for large volume parenterals, piggyback containers, chemotherapy agent and total parenteral nutrition, using the proper aseptic techniques, under a laminar flow hood.QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED Certification with two (2) years successful hospital pharmacy technician experienceCompleted an ASHP accredited pharmacy technician-training programHave One (1) year of experience at Grady Health System pharmacyHave One (1) year of experience in a pharmacy outside of Grady Health SystemMust be a Registered Technician with the State of GeorgiaIV experience, chemotherapy highly desiredPharmacy Technician PTCB Certification requiredOrganization and accurate record keeping skillsBasic computer data entry skills required and typing approximately 30 wpmEqual Opportunity Employer-Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.EOE-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
