Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skills Guidewire Systems Architect to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for architecting and designing solutions that solve business problems, while aligning to enterprise standards. In this role, you will define and maintain emergent design to help ensure the system under development is fit for its intended purpose. This position works closely with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners and Software engineering Agile teams on Guidewire based Insurance suite products.

Job Duties / Essential Functions:

  • Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values, ethics, and information protection policies
  • Own system level technical features (non-functional requirements) to minimize technical debt and continuously improve upon the system’s ability to measure and align to quality and compliance standards
  • Advise and design standard software builds and evaluate options, risks, costs, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals.
  • Create and maintain systems architecture documentation including models, roadmaps and standards.
  • Develop design approaches.
  • Apply standards, best practices and design patterns when practical/justified to deliver solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to project team as appropriate.
  • Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs
  • Champion Agile principles, values, and practices

Qualifications

Required Education / Experience / KSA’s:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 4 years.
  • 5+ or more years of experience in enterprise application development
  • 1+ years of architect level experience.
  • Guidewire BillingCenter (might consider ClaimCenter and/or PolicyCenter)
  • Knowledge of Java related technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Data model, HTML, XML, and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web services (SOAP and/or Rest)
  • Ability to effectively triage technical issues.
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to learn the business and technology at a rapid pace.
  • Ability to maintain trust with high credibility and reliability with stakeholders and team
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to provide and validate high level estimates on the overall project
  • Curiosity and open mindset to learn and adapt in evolving environment
  • Ability to provide and validate hardware/software requirements for the proposed architecture.
  • Ability to consider scalability, performance, and security when designing solutions.
  • Ability to organize material, analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent inter-personnel, written, and verbal communication skills.
