We are actively seeking a proactive, super analytical and incredibly detail-oriented full-time Purchasing Agent to join our growing team! As our new Purchasing Star, you will report directly to Julian, and your primary function will be inventory optimization and management, demand planning, vendor management, pricing, purchase orders and contract/pricing negotiation.

Sense of Humor: We would especially love it if you were as obsessed with cigars as we are. We would love it even more if you have the innate ability to laugh at yourself. The busy days around here are only increasing with deadlines coming sooner and order numbers climbing higher. Weve learned that laughing at ourselves and with each other is a big help to keep us from going nuts.

Insane Attention-to-Detail. You possess a natural cross your Ts and dot your Is mentality. Mistakes jump out at you like neon signs on a highway. We move very fast and you will be expected to be ahead of the curve, highly organized and observant.

Breakdown of Responsibility:

Oversee complete end-to-end inventory management process; analyze data to optimize inventory turns and maintain enough supply to meet customer demands.

Maintain impeccable inventory data related to names, sku's, price, cost, deliveries, suppliers, etc.; report accurate KPI numbers to President.

Develop purchasing plans by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.

Create Purchase Orders on a timely basis while maximizing inventory turns and minimizing inventory bloat.

Daily close coordination with our receiving dept to confirm accurate PO deliveries for accounting purposes.

Vendor Management: follow up with vendors if any issues arise from PO deliveries, and work to source, negotiate and acquire new vendors to support cost optimization.

Negotiate terms and pricing; develop and maintain relationships with key vendors.

Replenish various bundle/kit packages on a timely basis based on product demand and warehouse replenishment schedules.

Partner and coordinate closely with Digital Merchandiser on promotions, new arrivals and proprietary inventory buys.

Utilize Inventory Planner, our departmental software management program and/or advise management of new programs based on industry trends; stay abreast of new technologies to make suggestions for improved processes.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Must possess a High School Diploma.

At least two (2) years proven experience working as a purchasing agent within a small to medium sized niche e-commerce business.

Excellent analytical skills and above average Excel.

Experience with Inventory Management programs.

Strong relationship management and vendor management skills; ability to communicate data effectively through presentations to upper management.

A professional manner with strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong working knowledge of statistical processes and procedures and the ability to use analysis to achieve maximum inventory optimization.

Desired Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge of cigars and experience purchasing them is highly preferred.

Relationships within cigar industry / book of business / contacts.

Think outside-the-box mentality to help us expand our product line.
