Southern Technical Institute Pinellas Park Campus is now interviewing for instructors to help support our campus growth! We are currently seeking qualified applicants that we can train to teach our Phlebotomy, EKG Technician, Home Health Aide, and/or CNA Prep courses“ We have several day, weekend and evening part-time/flex positions available.

PREFERENCE to candidates that can work day and/or evenings, or combined work shifts, to help cover student schedules.

We are currently seeking experienced CNAs, Medical Assistants or Patient Care Technicians that want to share their healthcare expertise and knowledge with others! Southern Technical Institute would love for you to share your experience with our students to measure and improve the competency of Florida's future healthcare providers. No teaching experience required. We are willing to train the right candidates!

Southern Technical Institute offers a variety of entry-level, medical education courses and programs that include Home Health Aide, Certified Nurse Assistant Test Prep, EKG Technician, Phlebotomy, and Patient Care Assistant programs.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The right candidate will be instructing adult students in a combination of practical and theoretical setting. Basic duties include: classroom instruction, tutoring, and student retention. Instructor shall prepare offer instruction and supervision of students in classroom to meet the requirements of the Florida Commission for Independent Education, as well as state and federal regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Note: you must CURRENTLY reside in Florida for consideration of this position.

1. A minimum of three years of work experience within your field.

2. Teaching or Training experience is a plus; however, we are willing to train the right individuals. 3. Experience and comfort in communicating with adults from other nations, cultures and ethnic groups.

4. Must hold a current, unencumbered license within your field.

5. Possess excellent interpersonal skills

6. Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community.

7. Preference to individuals that can work a flexible schedule to instruct Night (5:30PM to 10:30PM) and Weekend (Saturday/Sunday) courses.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE:

1. Has a genuine interest in and willingness to motivate, inspire and share their passion for the medical industry.

2. Demonstrates knowledge of current state and federal regulations applying to training and success of students.

3. Demonstrates a high level of inter-personal skills, including individual and group communication, team building skills, flexibility, and problem solving.

4. Provides appropriate interactive instruction to adult students.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

A. Directly responsible for classroom, lab and clinical instruction, including gathering needed instructional equipment and supplies.

B. Attends Staff meetings. Shares responsibility with other staff for continuing program development, organization and implementation.

C. Evaluates student progress, performs skills testing, and maintains student records.

D. Provides 1-on-1 tutoring as needed for students preparing for examination.

E. Models professional work habits for students. G. Respects student confidentiality.

F. Understands and respects the trauma and loss experienced by job loss and economic recession, and shows sensitivity to the mental health and stress issues that may surface in the classroom, lab and clinical settings.

G. Promotes self-sufficiency for students.

H. Other duties as assigned.
