Nestled on 600 acres just north of State Road 70, Esplanade Golf and Country Club at Lakewood Ranch is a gated enclave of 1,250 detached villas and single family homes brings a touch of the Mediterranean to Southwest Florida with regional-inspired architecture, lush landscaping, serene lakes, and fabulous resort-style amenities that include a full-time lifestyle director who is located on site. Residents have use of on-site facilities, including a championship golf course, tennis, a heated lagoon-style pool and spa, resistance pool, outdoor barbeque space, fire pits, Pickle Ball and Bocce, as well as many dining options accessible by golf cart.

Position Purpose and Objectives:

The Line Cook prepares culinary delights for our members and guests. Maintains accountability for the food appearance, high quality of the food and overall dining experience. The Line Cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items in all areas of the kitchen.

Essential Job Requirements and Skills:

- Sets up station according to Club policies.

- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.

- Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Club.

- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.

- Cleans and maintains station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organization skills.

- Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station.

- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.

- Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef, F & B Manager, Dining Room Manager or Clubhouse manager at any time.

Essential Job Requirements and Skills:

- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

- Ability to provide effective written and verbal instructions, as well as the ability to carry out details written or verbal instructions independently.

- Ability to visually inspect food preparation, read and follow recipes.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

- Must have understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.

- Ability to perform moderate physical work, may be required to life up to 70 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.

- Moderate knowledge of menu driven computer systems.

Working Conditions:

- Works primarily indoors in food preparation and a kitchen maintenance environment. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement hazards, sharp utensils, extremely hot stoves, grills and food, and dangerous chemical/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.

- Performs such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to five (5) hours without sitting.

Education and Training:

- Thorough knowledge of food preparation and kitchen maintenance operations procedures as would normally be acquired through a high school education or equivalent with one to three years of experience in similar responsible role

- Food Handler Certification required.

- Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
