Par Replenishment: Performs daily par cart inventories to establish re-order levels of assigned locations using the MMIS system. Performs requisition entry of supply quantities needed to replenish par levels. Maintains daily supply par levels of non-drug IV solutions with the use of PYXSIS. Pulls supplies from the replenishment locations and restocks locations from those pulled supplies.

Par Maintenance: Trend utilization of supply carts by rotating inventory as received to eliminate possible outdating of sterile supplies. Coordinates par additions and deletions as dictated by usage. Monitors and handles supply and linen outages.

Trays/Carts: Restock and maintain par levels on trays and specialty carts used by a unit (i.e. Isolation carts and Central Line Carts).

Special Order Supplies: Ordering of non-stock (Special Order) supplies as needed. These supplies may include office supplies, forms and supplies not carried by the distribution center.

Interaction with Materials Management Purchasing is crucial along with other varies departments depending on the item. May need to interact with vendors from time to time.

Equipment Management: Responsible to inventory and tracking all equipment used by the nursing unit. Responsible for maintaining the established par levels of each piece of equipment for the nursing unit.

Patient Supply Charges: Monitors all billable items on assigned nursing unit, ensuring each billable item is identified using the established method, yellow stickers.

Supply Charge Reconciliation: Daily identification and reconciliation of any billable item that has not properly been identified as being used on a patient.

Promptly responds to all requests in timely, courteous, and friendly manner.

QualificationsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Basic computer knowledge or typing skills required.

Knowledge of general office equipment such as fax machines, copy machines and printers.

Ability to read and write.

Must have a demonstrated polite, articulate communication style and good listening skills.

Inventory and supply distribution management course preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

One or Two years of inventory systems, warehousing and/or supply distribution experience required.

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience with materials handling equipment (hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) preferred.

Two years’ experience in Customer Service preferred.

Experience with computerized Materials Management Systems preferred.

Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

A valid Florida driver license is required.

Job Summary:Under the limited supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, Assistant Director of Materials Management and the assigned Nurse Manager(s), following established guidelines to coordinate the materials and equipment activities for the assigned hospital nursing unit. Works independently and directly with nursing staff daily. Initiates communication with nursing staff, Facilities Services and Materials Management daily. Responsible for coordinating all material services on assigned unit to include the restocking of all assigned par level areas and PYXIS® machines, maintenance and monitoring of assigned par areas, tray/carts maintenance, special order supply ordering, chargeable items management. Position may also help in the Distribution Center when needed. This position has no direct patient care responsibilities.
