Summary
The Cook (Culinary II) requires good communication and culinary skills. The desired cook candidate has hotel cooking experience and a culinary degree. The Cook (Culinary II) should have a professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures. Intermediate cook will work single stations in the kitchen and require significant supervision and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepare cold side appetizers & plate desserts
2. Setting up station in preparation for work shift
3. Become familiar with the kitchen, staff & menu
4. Cooking products according to preparation requests and plating guides.
5. Ensuring all work area is properly set up and organized and clean.
6. Processes vegetables for station prep and service.
7. Aids in pastry prep when needed
8. Follows outlined recipes and plating guides to provide consistent product
9. Monitor and enforce proper safety and hygiene practices.
10. Observes and tests foods being cooked by taste, smell, sight, and texture.
11. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
12. Assists in daily prep for all stations.
13. Responsible for the organization and rotation of walk-ins and freezers
14. Works for ways to become more efficient
15. Other duties as assigned.
