Work Hours/Shift:Full Time Evenings, 40 hours per week.You Will Be Responsible For:

Responsible for the transportation of contaminated and sterile surgical instruments and supplies to and from all OR's and patient care areas to ensure surgical instruments are available for patient use for scheduled and emergency procedures.

Responsible for patient safety by preventing cross contamination of surgical instruments by decontaminating and inspecting instruments for cleanliness and defects.

Contributes to department cleanliness, organization, productivity and safety by keeping all instruments and supplies are kept in designated location.

Utilizes Microsystems SPM computer program to track instruments, document effective time management/productivity and Q.A. data for department records.

Accurately inspects and assembles instrument trays according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards to ensure patient safety and customer satisfaction.

Serves as a resource expert and mentor for less experienced Sterile Processing staff

QualificationsWhat the Position Requires:

High School Diploma or equivalent

1year Sterile Processing experience - Maintains educational requirements as outlined in the organizational checklists.

IAHCSMM CRCST Certification

Job Summary:Provides support to the department by retrieving, documenting, decontamination and assembly of surgical instruments to ensure instruments are available for scheduled and emergency cases.
