We are looking for a scale operator to start immediately. Looking for a self-starter that needs little direction once trained. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Hours are Mon. - Fri. 7 AM to 5:30 PM and every other Saturday 7 AM - 12:30 PM. Our company does "storm work" so if a hurricane comes through any of the surrounding areas (Florida, Georgia, NC/SC, Alabama) the hours will be 7 days a week from 7 AM - 5:30 PM.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Weighs incoming and outgoing truck loads. Instructs new customers where to dump and procedures for
dumping and weighing out.
- Processes weight scale tickets and properly identifies all customers.
- Monitors and informs all customers of unacceptable material in a professional and courteous manner.
- Helps all retail customers as needed and ensures sales tax is accurately charged.
- Keeps a list of tare weights for all routinely returning trucks.
- Issues load tickets to loader pick up drivers. Identifies address, directions and time for load to be picked up on the load ticket.
- Inquires each morning who the designated site equipment operator is for the day and helps ensure he or she monitors the site for obvious environmental issues such as trash on the ground, and any repairs that may be needed.
- Receives inspection reports from drivers each day and ensures follow up and/or repairs are completed and documented both electronically and on paper.
- Signs and reviews each fuel delivery to tanks.
- Keeps an accurate Excel spread sheet of daily activities.
- Answers all phone calls in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintains office environment in a clean and organized manner.
- Does other general office duties as needed such as filing, faxing, copying, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
