Performs duties independently and initiates judgment in handling difficult or critical situations.QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent required. College preferred. Minimum of one year medical secretary experience is required for external candidates. Two years Mayo experience preferred if the individual has some previous clerical experience. Must type a minimum of 40 CWPM and pass a transcription test. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.Additional qualificationsMust possess strong computer/technical and office skills. Past performance should demonstrate strong leadership skills, including human relation and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with others. Must be able to efficiently handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and flourish in an extremely fast paced environment.Exemption statusNon-exemptCompensation DetailEducation, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
