Job Title: Heavy Equipment OperatorJob Description:ASRC Federal Field Services is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support ongoing activities on our program in Avon Park, FL.Summary:Primarily responsible for operating heavy equipment to maintain the airfield, target areas, and shell-capped roads of the Avon Park Air Force Range. Must be particularly adept in operation of a tractor with batwing mower and articulated all-terrain front-end loader/forklift. Must be willing and able to perform to routine equipment maintenance and be able to identify and communicate any mechanical/functional issues for required repairs of the equipment being operated. Strongly desired to have secondary skill-set in welding and metal fabrication. Other skills in vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs and/or such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, fabrication, and/or general facility maintenance will also be considered in evaluating applicants.The base hourly rate for the position is $20.00. Benefits include health & welfare, medical and 401k programs, and paid time off including government holidays.Base work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment to include but not limited to farm and large industrial tractors (with mower or disc attachments), excavators, heavy loaders, bulldozers, rollers, graders, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, backhoes, extendable-boom fork lifts, and lift trucks.

Functional requirements/tasks include but are not limited to:

Clearing, grubbing, stripping, excavating, backfilling, and disking soil/land.

Hauling, loading, spreading, and piling of bulk road and construction materials.

Mowing semi-improved road shoulders and grounds

Clearing ditches and storm water detention areas.

Transporting heavy construction equipment and other oversized loads with tractor-trailer.

Constructing berms including finished side slopes.

Lifting, transporting, and stacking steel shipping containers and concrete blocks for target construction.

Completing inspections and reports on mobile and stationary equipment and maintaining individual equipment readiness.

Performing tasks required to support disaster preparedness or recovery operations.
