The Account Manager is one of the primary business contacts for clients and has the following responsibilities:
Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with clients, insurance carriers and vendors
Demonstrates an understanding of the clients' business objectives and employee benefit needs
Oversees the complete and total servicing of a designated book of business in the small to mid-size market
Develops and presents plan and renewal terms to client for all lines of coverages in a timely and efficient manner
Ensures proper, effective and up to date consultation on benefits
Serves as the client advocate to identify, resolve or escalate product and service issues
Assists with the implementation of online portal systems based upon client needs
Demonstrates financial acumen through analysis and presentation of data to clients
Qualifications
Full-time position
Bachelor's Degree preferred or related field and/or years of equivalent experience
Life and Health licensure required
3-5 years industry experience; insurance, benefits consulting, broker
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
Understands industry trends and governmental regulations including State Continuation, COBRA, ACA, etc.
Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines
Ability to work with little supervision and manage book of business independently
Ability to work in the Vienna/Tysons area
