Cascade Beverage Company is a fast-growing company specializing in premium nitro beverages including hand-crafted coffee, artisan teas, and in-house fermented kombucha. Joining this efficient, fast-paced team will give you experience in a variety of unique areas in the brewery through cross-training as every member of our small but growing business needs to be able to pitch in where needed. Job Description:

Producing non-alcoholic hand-crafted premium nitro beverages in significant volume (i.e., coffee, tea and kombucha), and kegging them using mechanical equipment. This job combines physically demanding hands-on work, scientific processes, and the "frou-frou" cuisine of fine coffee, artisan teas and kombucha. Barista, brewery or culinary experience preferred; however, we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude.

Location: Lorton, Virginia

Hours: Generally weekdays 9:00-5:00 with emphasis on flexible hours and days. Our business is somewhat seasonal, so we are looking for both seasonal and year-round, part time and full time employees, which may start as part-time and move into full time. May very occasionally include other hours for special events.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Prepare beverages in large volume (involves some simple cooking and math skills)

Keg products and move full kegs into coolers and load into delivery vehicles

Clean cooking, brewing, and kegging equipment and dishes

Test products using scientific instruments; measure, label and record data

Assist with deliveries when needed

Proficiency at using new apps on your smart device to achieve a "paperless" process

Inventory management

Qualifications:

You must have or acquire a Food Safety certification within 30 days of hire (we can help, may require class/test)

Experience with food safety and production is a plus

You can repeatedly lift 50-60 pound kegs and stand for long periods of time

Proficient at creating and following precise checklists, SOP's and safety protocols to meet standards each time without cutting corners

You are self-motivated organized and free-thinking and can work efficiently when alone

Reliable transportation to and from work

You do not have dietary restrictions that would prevent tasting our products (which may contain dairy, sugar, nuts, fruits)

You are flexible enough to tolerate changes

You can receive and incorporate feedback

You are teachable and curious and want to understand processes deeply

You can work with team members, and in proximity to others in a shared space

Job Types: Part-time, could be combined with other part-time open positions to create full-time job

Required experience: 1 year of food production or food service

Required education: High school

Required license or certification: Driver's License

Desired certification: ServSafe Food Manager

Required language: English

Salary: $10.00 to $12.50 /hour
