KID-FIT offers a complete fitness, nutrition and health curriculum specially designed for children ages 2-5. We are seeking Preschool Fitness Instructors to join our growing team in the DC area. Our instructors travel to different sites to teach our curriculum-based programs in area preschools and daycares. We provide lesson plans, music, all props and equipment.
This position is prefect for energetic early education teachers looking for weekly, stable part-time work. If you are a self-motivated individual who wants to have a positive impact on children's health and fitness, this is the job for you! Please note that this is a part-time/supplemental position. Our instructors only work 5-15 hours per week.
Qualifications:
Overall Physical Fitness - Candidate must be athletic and able to execute lesson plans with the children. They must have stamina to lead several 30-minute classes in a row. Carry large props and equipment in/out of schools and up/down stairs. Therefore, candidate must be able to run a minimum of one mile, 20+ push-ups and provide their weekly work-out routine.
Leadership Skills - Must be able to manage and creatively engage 20+ preschool children at one time in an indoor classroom setting. Must be positive, patient, courteous and professional in communicating with children, parents, teachers, and site directors.
Education & Experience - All candidates must have a minimum one-year experience working with large groups of young children (2-5). Must be able to pass a background check. Secure Fitness Liability Insurance.
Passion & Energy - Must love children, be animated, silly and comfortable acting like a kid
Reliable car/drive - Candidates must have a reliable car, large enough to accommodate many props and equipment needed for classes. Our classes are located in DC and Maryland.
Availability - Must be able to train immediately and have Monday - Friday availability.
Must be 18+ years of age
Bilingual, English/Spanish, a huge plus!

Located at 1700 April Lane, Silver Spring, MD 20904 in the large conference room located on the second floor. Please arrive promptly at 10:30 am. Late arrivals will NOT be admitted. Parking is available in front of the community center.
