Customer Service Associates are the face of Patrick's Pet Care. Associates are tasked with going (often by bike, car, or scooter) to the neighborhoods of the District, stopping at one house after another to care for animals. Primarily, field caretakers are responsible for a mid-day dog walking route in a dedicated neighborhood that is done from approximately 10:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, but we can make a route a bit shorter or longer to accommodate scheduling conflicts. In this role associates will interact directly with customers and their pets on a daily basis, providing regular updates about their pet's experiences with Patrick's Pet care. As independent operators in the field, associates will need to make daily use of technology including smart phones and various industry apps that track location by GPS.Those who love animals and those who enjoy independent, active, outdoor work, have an ability to navigate easily in the city, and have at least a basic inclination toward mobile tech tend to thrive in this position. In this role associates may be responsible for handling dogs of varying sizes, visiting and caring for cats, and occasionally administering food and medications to both. Applicants must be comfortable being outside in all weather conditions and being responsible for a group of up to 3 dogs. Intensive training is provided. The Monday-Friday mid-day availability is most important for these positions, although at least some morning, evening, and weekend shifts are required of everyone in this position.

Requirements for Employment:
-Love of animals
-Availability of 10-40 hours per week
-Ability to clear a criminal background check
-Availability weekdays between 10:00am and 4:00pm
-At least some morning/evening/weekend work will be required
-Ownership of a functional Apple or Android smartphone
-Strong and creative written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Though Not Required):
-Previous customer service experience
-Frequent Facebook or social media user
-DC residency strongly preferred
Compensation:
-Wages begin at $16.00 / hour + for new walkers in the field with no experience and increase as experience is gained, plus bonuses from management and tips from customers.
-Wages are negotiable for walkers with previous professional dog walking or pet care experience.
