Baryonyx Management Consulting Inc., an Arlington-based data analytics firm, is seeking a full-time, highly intelligent Data Analyst to work across our government client sites in Washington, DC and apply their skills in the areas of developing manpower models, forecasting models, data extraction, data analytics, optimization and machine learning. The ideal candidate for this position loves to work with data, knows how to develop and maintain data-driven models, is highly motivated, has excellent problem-solving, and interpersonal skills along with a solid background in working with data and quantitative analysis. Applicants must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment, and must exhibit hyper attention to detail. The candidate must be equal parts independent and team-oriented. US Citizenship is required and the candidate must be able to be able to clear a Public Trust screening. Applicants with a current DHS security clearance or public trust clearance will be given extra consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with various types of data to develop, maintain and enhance workforce/manpower models built in MS Excel, MS Access and R
Manage, treat and cleanse data in order to create clean, structured data sets for use in reports, analyses, studies and models
Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research using client data, formulate hypotheses, test them and present the results in a clear and concise manner
Use advanced statistical techniques to identify and measure trends, anomalies, forecast future values and determine other relevant insight
Skills and Specifications:
Expertise in MS Excel required. Expertise in developing models required. Proficiency in SQL, VBA, R and/or SAS highly desired.
Strong analytical, data extraction and data treatment skills required
Ability to quickly understand complex data structures and formulate queries to extract information as needed
Ability to think analytically, outside-the-box, and dive to the root cause of situations
Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize appropriately
Ability to gather and interpret large amounts of data and information and quickly recognize what is superfluous and what is relevant using analytical and statistical techniques
Ability to build both simple and complex models using client data that fulfill some quantitative purpose/problem asked by the client
Ability to quickly understand client business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, and self-directed research
Ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally
Education and Qualifications:
Must be a United States Citizen
Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
A minimum of three years of experience in data analysis or related field
