Job Description

General duties of the position:

  • Support the planning and execution activities consistent with the strategic objectives of Policy initiatives. Reviews current program requirements related to budget constraints, project schedules, and other field issues, to sync them with program strategies.
  • Support the planning, execution, and documenting of meetings and conferences by assisting with scheduling, preparing agendas, recording notes, facilitating, and capturing discussion points and action items.
  • Document, track and follow-up on priorities, issues, and other action items as necessary.
  • Conduct comparative analyses or studies to provide trends, projections, and recommendations. Develop briefings, charts, and other graphical presentations for review and decision-making. Brief management and/or senior level officials on actions, findings, challenges, risks, recommendations, etc.
  • Develop a variety of correspondence and communication materials (letters, memos, presentations, briefings). Reviews and edits material and formats for clarity and in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist with revising and drafting a variety of orders, policies, SOPs, handbooks, advisory circulars, and other documentation.
  • Manage and track office metrics as they relate to overall strategic objectives and activities. Provide input to monthly SPIRE goals and participate in annual business planning activities.
  • Manage SharePoint sites.
  • Assist with the revision and/or development of LDR codes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and interim reports as required.
  • Assist with design and development of training curriculum, modules, and tools to support delivery of program requirements. Explore options for optimal types of training delivery.
  • Create and prepare online interactive training courses using software, such as Articulate 360, to upload to FAA’s eLMS training platform. Coordinate and collaborate with the appropriate FAA training organization to ensure training standards are met.
  • Develop innovative concepts, approaches, methodologies, techniques, and policies that leverage technology, skillsets, and work activities and support the future vision of Technical Operations.
  • Conduct analysis on strategies that focus on NAS modernization, sustainment, and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Review current operational requirements related to maintenance activities, system impacts/risks, services priority, infrastructure condition, budget constraints, and other field issues. Researches and interprets applicable Orders, Policies, and Processes.

Qualifications

Specific knowledge requirements and duties:

  • Experience with application of Technical Operations policies and procedures and understanding of related Advisory Circulars (ACs), Orders, SOPs, and Handbooks.
  • Knowledge and experience with development of operational policy, orders, and related documentation. Support development and revisions to orders, SOPs, etc.
  • Knowledge of FAA’s Technet website for operational information. Assist in identifying and documenting requirements for new applications/tools. Review user manual documents, submit change order requests, and participate in tools testing.
  • Assist with design and development of web-based training for orders and policies. Participates in gathering requirements and developing documents for web-based tool development.
  • Maintains internal Policy SharePoint sites.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio and Adobe Acrobat programs, and SharePoint.
  • A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field that included or was supplemented by; at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management is required.
  • 8 years relevant experience.
