SummaryThis position is located in the National Partnership Office, National Forest System, Washington Office. The incumbent works closely with leadership and others to align partnership activities with agency goals. This work involves partnership analysis and development, program management, development of strategies and tools, and targeted networking. Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement: For the GS-12: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as the following: Performed work related to building coalitions for partnerships that included communicating with stakeholders such as small businesses, governmental organizations, non-profits, tribal governments, media, academic institutions, the general public, local community groups, and/or other organizations; worked with non-profit organizations or state government demonstrating a general understanding of how external partners are funded and how they operate in partnerships; and/or planned, developed, directed, and implemented partnership programs that included serving as a technical advisor to resolve partnership issues, provide guidance and training to managers and staff, and participate in or lead funding activities in support of partnership programs. For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as the following: Performed work related to building coalitions for partnerships that included communicating with a full range of agency stakeholders including large corporations, small businesses, governmental organizations, non-profits, tribal governments, media, academic institutions, the general public, local community groups, Congressional/legislative committees and staffs, and/or other organizations to secure developing and expanding existing partnerships; worked with non-profit organizations or state government demonstrating a good understanding of how external partners are funded, their missions and goals, and how they operate in partnerships in order to develop community or non-profit capacity to affect conservation goals; and/or served as a consultant and advisor to officials as a recognized authority in coordinating, planning, designing and executing a regional or national level program in partnership development that builds capacity to execute an organization's mission. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
