Job Description

CMI is seeking an Associate Consultant based in Washington, DC to join our global team on 1 October 2020. Associate consultants are skilled professionals with knowledge of international public policy and regulatory affairs equivalent to a Master's degree in the field or at least two years of relevant work experience. Associate consultants are expected to exercise discretion and judgement in their direct support for client accounts in collaboration with colleagues.

Associate consultant work includes but is not limited to: Advising client teams and developing strategies on international trade, tax, and regulatory issues arising in foreign markets, in bilateral or regional negotiations, through deliberations of international organizations, or through public-private partnerships and coalitions Advising client teams domestically and abroad to achieve brand recognition and recognition as a thought leader Establishing and managing effective protocols with clients to manage international public-private partnerships Facilitating client engagements with domestic and trade, economic, and health stakeholders Monitoring, researching and analyzing trade, economic, and health policies that inform client decision-making Monitoring, researching, and analyzing a range of political, regulatory, economic, and health-related developments in international markets that inform client decision-making Advising client teams in the drafting of reports, memos, presentations, talking points, briefing books, leave-behinds and other materials to support internal client strategy as well as external initiatives or advocacy Oversee logistical needs for specific client-related meetings or activities Contribute to firm management activities and special projects, as requested

Qualifications

Knowledge of international public policy and regulatory affairs equivalent to a Master’s degree in the field or at least two years of relevant work experience Record of outstanding academic achievement. Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a relevant field (required), Master’s Degree, preferable in a relevant field (a plus). Languages: English (required), Spanish (a plus) Proven ability to exercise discretion and judgement in vital tasks for clients and/or principals Attentive to detail, interpretive, creative, resourceful, tenacious, and entrepreneurial Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent research and analytical skills Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, demanding environment Commitment to delivering the very highest levels of client service in a fast-paced, demanding environment Proficiency in productivity software (required), ability to use software in project management settings (strong plus). Willingness to undertake international travel

Requirement:

The position requires a minimum of two (2) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.
