Job Description
This position is responsible for performing all tasks involved in the accurate accounting of all raw material, supplies and packaging received, and the daily preparation and staging of ingredients for production. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting other departments in resolving problems with inventory related issues (troubleshooting), ensuring proper rotation of all items, and performing cycle counts and inventory counts.
- Keep and maintain records of all stocks and materials and all documents related to traceability, quality control, and receiving
- Verify/record compute against physical count of inventory and adjust errors in computation or count. Investigate and report reason for discrepancies
- Prepare reports such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages
- Coordinate with team members and other departments
- Weekly Cycle Counts
- Monthly Inventory
- Perform inventory count in warehouse and freezers with temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit
Daily analysis of delivery report schedule to anticipate:
- Room to store
- Delivery appointments
- Day time management
Receiving of Material
- Quality control and documentation.
- Communication with QA and Production in the event of quality issues or quantity discrepancies upon delivery, as well as shipment delays or no shows
Warehouse
- Organize ingredients to facilitate FIFO and physical count
- Monitor stock levels and inform Production and Procurement if levels fall below established limits
- Together with the shipping and receiving and the inventory teams, maintain a clean and safe warehouse and prepare it for incoming loads
Price List /Material Preparation
- Prepare and stage ingredients for the following production day following FIFO rule, quantity requested, etc
- Label and identify ingredients
- Record and track lot numbers and traceability
- Calculate production usage based on material returned to stock
- Perform cycle counts and communicate results to the procurement team
Physical Count
- Perform monthly inventory counts (usually on Saturday) with Shipping/Receiving and Inventory teams.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 1-2 years of inventory experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP (Sage)
- Good Math, Reading, and English skills are required
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
