The position is located in Simsbury, CT.Responsibilities:The Capture Engineer is the development and applications engineer on new business projects in both the Missile and Launch Vehicle segments of our business. Working together with the Capture Managers and Business Development Managers, this team will lead product design from concept into development. The Capture Engineer is the technical lead and will perform concept design, modeling, and prototyping of energetic and non-energetic components and systems, ensuring the new product designs meet the customer needs.Responsibilities include:
Create 3D conceptual models to meet customer design requirements
Interact with customers on design, interface, and functional details
Successfully apply and integrate EBAD products into customer system level designs
Develop and implement creative design solutions in support of solving customer challenges
Support business capture efforts as the technical point of contact with the customer and internally
Interact with suppliers to rapid prototype parts for risk reduction and prototype testing
Perform design trade studies and requirement and risk assessment to ensure design fidelity
Product testing and evaluation
Cost estimating and management for proposal, development, and program activities
Requirements:The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience in product design of aerospace, missile, and/or defense products.Required experience includes:
Demonstrated experience in new product development and rapid prototyping
Proven leadership of technical teams
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management and customers
Solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
Proven ability to interpret and analyze mechanical, chemical and/or electrical specification requirements and data
Must have or be able to obtain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
Must be a U.S or naturalized Citizen capable of working on U.S. DoD and ITAR restricted products
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of explosive materials and energetic devices for launch vehicle and/or missile systems
Experience with product development, rapid prototyping, and manufacturing processes
Experience with all Microsoft Office tools including MS Project
