Department:JMH08090 Building ServicesExpected Weekly Hours:40Shift:Evening ShiftPosition Purpose:Housekeeper - Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe health care environment by daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, departments and other assigned areas.Job Description Details:

Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed department guidelines.

Cleans offices, patient rooms, corridors, public areas, bathrooms, floors, and treatment rooms according to quality standards

Executes proper cleaning procedure as observed by the Supervisor following patient discharges.

Demonstrates efficient, cost-effective and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by the Supervisor.

Performs other special assignments, which may be assigned by the Supervisor or required by the needs of the Hospital.

Requirements

High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred; or one to three months’ related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Physical DemandsThis position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
