This is a rare opportunity for you to help NASA meet the challenges of the first step in achieving that “long-term presence at the Moon” and the stepping point for human missions to Mars.The GN&C engineer for the Integrated Human Lander System (IHLS) will be responsible is supporting the design, analysis, integration and test of the GN&C subsystem for the Human Lander element. Specifically, you will be a specialist in rendezvous, proximity operations and docking (RPOD). Here are some of the benefits you can enjoy: Medical Dental 401k Paid time off Work/life balance Career development Mentorship opportunities Rewards & recognitionLearn more about Lockheed Martin’s competitive and comprehensive benefits package.Basic Qualifications:- Strong Guidance, Navigation & Control (GN&C ) background in controls and dynamics, specifically demonstrating skills in Rendezvous, Proximity Ops and Docking (RPOD)- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink- Strong analytical background and algorithm development- Demonstrated experience in a program life cycle encompassing requirements generation, PDR, design and analysis, CDR, integration, qualification, verification, and validation of a GN&C subsystem (hardware and algorithms) for space applications.- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment- Demonstrated ability to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team membersDesired Skills:- Experience working with NASA- Experience with autocode to C- Familiarity with GN&C Hardware Suite for Manned Flight- Previous experience with orbital guidance algorithms, RCS control, 6DOF simulation development and flight software sequencing- Lander control system and navigation system design and analysis- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Strong interpersonal skills- Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
