This is a rare opportunity for you to help NASA meet the challenges of the first step in achieving that “long-term presence at the Moon” and the stepping point for human missions to Mars.The Chief Software Architect provides leadership for specifying, developing, integrating, and validating the software systems design for Human Space Flight (HSF) program and assures it is properly reflected in all subsystems.Leadership skills the candidate should possess include organizational skills, strong technical vision matched with hands-on execution, and a passion for success. Ability to function in a dynamic and time-constrained environment, with internationally distributed, multi-company team is required.Technical skills include rapid understanding of existing data and software, ability to apply both “big picture” and detail-oriented design techniques.Basic Qualifications:- Significant experience in systems engineering, system architecture and software development for envisioning, implementing and delivering large scale software system solutions- Experience with Software Development Processes using agile methodology- Demonstrated technical project experience responsible for the development of complex software based elements or systemsDesired Skills:- Experience with Orion, Human Space Flight, or NASA missions and customers- Demonstrated experience overseeing teams who are working across multiple locations or virtually- Cross LM Business Unit and/or other Software Industry experience- Motivated self-starter prepared to represent the organization and the company while engaging and collaborating with customers and other senior leaders, with a demonstrated strategic mindset.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
