OverviewNelnet’s ServiceNow Software Engineer will develop, enhance, and administer Nelnet’s ServiceNow platform. You will be responsible for prioritizing requests, effectively communicating to customers, and executing plans for the continuous improvement of Nelnet’s IT Service Delivery.This position requires work in support of the Company’s contract with the United States Department of Education (“ED”). As such, the United States Government requires that any applicant for this position must complete United States Government security clearance. Effective June 1, 2018, ED has informed Nelnet that security clearance applications for foreign nationals are not being accepted or processed. Participate in designing solutions for a wide range of teams using ServiceNow
Adhere to best practices and standards on the ServiceNow platform
Analyze and translate business requirements into technical requirements for development and the creation of design documents and technical specifications.
Provide post implementation support including, but not limited to, monitoring application performance and debugging code.
Keep abreast of advancements and changes in the ServiceNow platform and develop an understanding of how new features can be leveraged to provide business solutions.
QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/COMPETENCIESYOU SHOULD HAVE…
Past experience with ServiceNow platform development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent organization skills and an ability to follow issues/requests to completion
Passion for providing great customer service
Ability to obtain a security clearance
IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU ALSO HAD…
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer Certification
