The Roadside Assistance Driver provides roadside assistance to stranded motorists, including tire changes, battery jumps, filling overheated radiators, providing gasoline, etc., and keeping the E-470 Beltway free of minor road hazards and trash. Roadside Assistance Drivers will also perform emergency traffic control at incident scenes by using cones, flares, or an RA vehicle to temporarily close travel lanes, entrance and exit ramps, or the entire road. Roadside Assistance will also pick up trash and debris on the roadside when weather permits. Drivers may be reassigned on a long term or temporary basis to another location, other shifts, or other schedules to balance manpower or meet the needs of the company.
