The County of Nevada, California, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, seeks a Chief Fiscal/Administrative Officer.

The mission of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is to protect lives, promote health and wellness, and provide support and services to help Nevada County residents meet their basic needs. This position plays a key role in translating that important mission into reality. This position has overall fiscal and administrative responsibility for HHSA, the umbrella agency that includes the departments of Public Health, Social Services, Behavioral Health, Child Support, Collections, Housing, Probation and Public Defender. HHSA is the largest agency in the county, with a total budget of $115 million and around 300 staff. This individual provides supervision of budget managers for each of the departments, oversight of the Agency contracts unit, coordination of day to day fiscal activities for the agency, personnel management and more. The position reports directly the Agency Director, and is a critical partner and advisor in addressing complex administrative issues, negotiating and managing contracts, making funding decisions, and formulating policy direction.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, public or business administra­tion, accounting, or a related field, and three years of responsible experience in fiscal and administrative management at a level comparable to an Administra­tive Services Officer with the County of Nevada; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years of responsible experience in fiscal and administrative management at a level comparable to Administrative Services Officer with the County of Nevada.
