Small Landscape Designer is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated AutoCAD drafter to assist with our landscape design projects. The position is currently available on an as-needed basis, with the potential of growing into a part or full-time position as a Project Manager. A great opportunity for someone who has a strong work ethic, and wants to contribute and grow, in an expanding company. After a period of training, the position will require at-home work, so access to own AutoCAD is required.
You will be working directly with our Designer to help create Construction Documents, including Sections and Elevations and Planting and Lighting Plans, and may also include image sheets and colored plans for design presentations. This individual must demonstrate a positive attitude, creativity and good design judgement. Construction knowledge is a must.
Must have a positive attitude and a strong interest in working with plants and garden design.
The position may also include:
Research municipal codes for City and County submittals, and Homeowner Association (HOA) Guidelines.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required. Sketch Up is a bonus.
Must be located in the Ventura County area.
2+ years experience as a Landscape Design Drafter
Can provide a portfolio of drafting design work
Knowledge of LOCAL plants - "Southern California plant palette knowledge"
Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
Ability to work from conceptual design to final Construction Documents
Self-starter and team-player
Job type: Independent Contractor (10 - 25 hours per week)
Hours: Able to set your own schedule and track hours.
Salary: Compensation will be based on experience.
There is a possibility of working independently after a trial period. Must have own transportation and able to meet at least once or twice per week after trial.
