Responsible to lead project in the design, modification, implementation, documentation, functional test, and operational acceptance of new and existing elements of the communication product line.

Specific tasks to be completed include the following but are not limited to:

Perform as the lead engineer in the development and presentation of proposed design solutions, with cost and schedule information, for management approval of implementation.

Manage assigned projects within budget and schedule constraints.

Identify system deficiencies and develop cost-effective design solutions to meet operational requirements.

Create and maintain system design and operational documentation to support configuration control regarding hardware design and implementation.

Work collaboratively with the Engineering team (Hardware and Software) and technical support personnel for assigned projects.

Develop procedures for verification of requirements and specifications against selected hardware through bench and integrated systems testing.

Support the development of product documentation.

Create detailed documentation including functional and logical diagrams.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to develop solutions based upon defined requirements.

Design, document, and develop new hardware products from initial requirements through prototypes to production-ready.

Maintain existing designs and deal with component end-of-life, etc.

Previous design experience with analog and digital voice systems is highly desired (Intercom, VoIP, PABX, Voice conferencing systems).

Ability to manage and troubleshoot systems to ensure reliable operational performance.

Ability to use schematic capture and printed circuit board artwork layout design software (Altium Designer desirable).

Good verbal and written communications skills.

Ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations.

Bachelor of Science in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) preferred 10 or more years of relevant experience.

Experience with CPLD and FPGA design.

Ability to work in a Linux-based environment highly desirable.

Ability to work with basic Windows Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).

Travel as needed to support product deployment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance or Active Secret Clearance

Valid U.S. Driver's License required
